together for new growth milestones.
An agreement has been reached between IDI Farmaceutici S.r.l. and SPA Società Prodotti Antibiotici for a minority stake by the latter—equal to 40% of the share capital—in IDI Farmaceutici.
The synergy between these two Italian companies—both with a long and established history in industry and R—aims to achieve significant results in terms of new healthcare preparations for the benefit of patients, as well as economic growth and the creation of new skilled jobs.
The agreement also holds great significance from a broader perspective, aligning with the strengthening and development of the pharmaceutical sector, which represents a cornerstone of our country’s overall economic growth.
The partnership between the two companies will bring synergies
from a commercial and industrial standpoint, with the
development of latest-generation production plants and, in collaboration with IDI IRCCS,
the co-development of new molecules. The goal
of the agreement is to seize all market opportunities, including at an international level.
SPA Società Prodotti Antibiotici, a family-owned company founded in 1947 and led by the third generation of the Founder’s family, has a long and prestigious history. It was the first major producer of Italian penicillin in the immediate post-war period, providing a significant boost to research for the control of infectious diseases.
SPA subsequently grew by expanding its therapeutic areas of expertise to cardio-metabolic, gastroenterology, and the osteoarticular area.
